The zoo picked a name

Her name is Maple.

The Toronto Zoo’s baby pygmy hippo finally has a name, and we gave her a coin to match. A community token, no team allocation, no roadmap theatre — 100% of creator rewards go to the zoo that’s raising her. Now let’s go get her onboarded.

A community project by hippo people. Not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Toronto Zoo.

Pygmy hippos are endangered. There are fewer than 2,500 left in the wild. Maple is one very small, very wet reason to care about that.

Meet Maple.

A baby pygmy hippo in Toronto just got her name, and the name is Maple. Which is, objectively, the most Canadian thing that has ever happened to a hippo.

She is small. She is round. She has the precise energy of a wet potato that knows it is deeply loved. The internet has not fully processed this yet. It is going to. And when it does, it is going to lose its entire mind.

So a handful of strangers online did the only reasonable thing available to them: built her a fan club, and attached a coin to it. No roadmap. No promises. Just a very good hippo and a group chat that got out of hand.

The whole point

Where the money goes.

Short version: we’re not keeping it.

100% of the creator rewards from $MAPLE are earmarked to be donated to the Toronto Zoo. Not a slice. Not “a portion of a portion.” The whole thing.

The community’s goal is to get Maple officially onboarded — adopted, sponsored, supported, whatever the zoo’s own programs actually allow. That’s the target we’re aiming at, out loud, so anyone can hold us to it.

To be completely straight with you: this is a commitment we’re making, not a receipt we’re waving around. Creator rewards accrue over time. When they land, they go out, and we post the proof where everyone can see it.

  1. 01

    Collect the rewards

Creator rewards accumulate on-chain as people trade. Nothing to do here but let them stack up.

  2. 02

    Send it to the zoo

Those rewards are earmarked for the Toronto Zoo, through whatever donation or support route the zoo itself offers.

  3. 03

    Show the receipts

Transactions, confirmations, screenshots — posted publicly. If we can’t show it, we didn’t do it.

Four small steps

How to buy
$MAPLE

Never bought a token before? Perfect. This takes about five minutes, and nothing here is harder than signing up for an email address.

  1. 01

    Get a Solana wallet

Install Phantom or Solflare — both are free, and both work as a browser extension or a phone app. Write your recovery phrase down on paper and never show it to anyone, ever.

  2. 02

    Put some SOL in it

SOL is the fuel for everything on Solana. You can buy it with a card straight inside the wallet, or send some over from an exchange you already use.

  3. 03

    Swap on pump.fun

Copy the contract address below, paste it into pump.fun, decide how much SOL you'd like to spend, and confirm the swap. The $MAPLE lands in your wallet a second later.

  4. 04

    Welcome to the herd

Hold it, post the hippo, tell the zoo. Maple has never once checked a chart and she is doing wonderfully.

Contract address (Solana)

One address, no exceptions. Only ever trust the contract address printed on this page. Impostor tokens copy the name, the picture and the whole vibe — check the address character for character before you swap, and ignore anyone who DMs you a different one.

Tokenomics

The numbers

No spreadsheet, no unlock cliff, no forty-slide deck. A plain pump.fun launch — here is everything that is actually true about it.

Chain Solana

Fast, cheap, and where the hippo lives.

Launched on pump.fun

Fair launch, open to everyone at the same moment.

Tax None

No buy tax, no sell tax. Only the network fee.

Liquidity Bonding curve

Handled by the pump.fun curve — nothing manual on our side.

100%

of creator rewards are earmarked for the Toronto Zoo

That is the promise this community made on day one: every creator reward this token generates is set aside to be donated to the zoo that looks after Maple. It is a commitment going forward, not a receipt — we'll show the community the transfers as and when they happen.

Community-run and unofficial. $MAPLE is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the Toronto Zoo.

Supply, holders and market cap move every minute, so we don't print them here where they'd go stale. For live figures, check the chart on Dexscreener.

Straight answers

Questions, honestly.

Six things people actually ask, answered without the crypto fog machine.

Anything we left out, ask in the community. Someone in there is awake and unreasonably invested in a hippo.

What is $MAPLE?

A memecoin on Solana, launched on pump.fun, made by fans of one specific baby pygmy hippo. That’s the entire product. There’s no app, no staking, no utility being quietly built in a garage — it’s a fan club with a ticker attached, and the creator rewards are earmarked for the zoo.

Who is Maple?

A baby pygmy hippo at the Toronto Zoo who just got her name — Maple. She is small, round, damp, and completely unaware that any of this is happening, which is honestly the best part.

For the real facts about her, go to the people who actually look after her: torontozoo.com/maple ↗

Is this official? Is it affiliated with the Toronto Zoo?

No. Plainly: $MAPLE is community-run and completely unaffiliated. It is not endorsed, sponsored, approved, or reviewed by the Toronto Zoo. Nobody there asked for this and nobody there is involved in it.

We’re fans making a fan thing. If the zoo ever wants us to change something, we will.

What happens to the creator rewards?

100% of them are earmarked to be donated to the Toronto Zoo, through whatever donation or support route the zoo itself offers. Not a slice of it. All of it.

Being straight with you: that’s a commitment, not a receipt. Creator rewards accrue slowly as people trade. When they land, they go out, and the proof — transactions, confirmations, screenshots — gets posted publicly. If we can’t show it, we didn’t do it.

How do I buy?

Solana wallet, a bit of SOL, paste the contract address, swap. That’s it — it takes about two minutes and no special knowledge.

Full step-by-step in the How to Buy section ↓

Is this an investment?

No. $MAPLE is a memecoin. It has no intrinsic value, no revenue, no team obligations, and no roadmap that ends in returns. Nothing here is financial advice, and nobody is promising you anything.

Treat it like buying a t-shirt for a hippo fan club: fun if you want in, and never with money you can’t afford to lose.

Join the herd

One hippo.
A lot of us.

The goal is simple and slightly ridiculous: get enough of us in one place to actually get Maple onboarded — adopted, sponsored, supported, whatever the zoo’s own programs allow. That only works with a crowd. So: be a crowd.

Free to join. The coin is optional. The hippo is not.
